Work From Home Business tips

Work From Crafters and Small Business owners all need good ideas

Whenever you are planning to either expand or to start up a new small home business you need to consider every method of marketing that there is out there.

Using traditional marketing methods do work – never write them off completely, and you should even consider mixing old methods with newer ones.
For a great Small Business Tip example

Flier Competition

  • Plan a competition with a very popular prize. (I-pad or something)
  • Print 5000 fliers.
  • Make the competition entrant have to log onto a website and add their e mail address to be able to eligible for the prize.
  • Distribute the fliers at an event that has 90% of your target market in one spot.
  • Make sure that your website is mobile friendly
  • Use a standard Aweber op-tin form – they work very well on mobiles – with very little modification

Once you have optimised your flier campaign – if your prize was enticing enough, you should have received a fairly high opt-in amount, and you are now in a position to send a few intense marketing e mails to those people.

If you do that correctly you should get a fairly high return from your e mails.

Remember an ordinary e mail only gets a .375% sales rate.

If you have managed to get a click through to your sales page you should also only average a 3% sales rate.

There are instances with a 50%  click through rate from an e mail (while up to 25% is the average) and as high as a 20% buy rate from there.

So your best is a possible 100 sales from a great email to 1000 people, BUT you could also only get 4 sales.

Truthfully you should aim at 25% click through and 3% sales, which is 7 or 8 sales from a mailing to 1000 people.

Recommended Hobbies for Children

The olden days were associated with a lot of laughter and screams of happy children playing in the parks but this sight is a rarity now. The simple reason behind this disappearance of kids is their contraction of hobbies and interests into the flat screen called computers or TVs. However it is still possible to lure them away from the TV and video games by providing them with a lot many hobbies and games which can be inculcated at a young age. It is unthinkable for me to see kids who are totally unsocialable when they grow up and they can only talk to each other via keyboards and screens.

Guide your children to these hobbies and activities by involving yourself also into it. Find and encourage exciting hobbies in your kids to wean them from PC games and TV. Good interesting hobbies promote creativity and kill boredom.

Let’s take a look at 3 hobbies that can help getting your kids out of the world of television, and into the world of diverse arts and crafts.

One such acclaimed hobby is to latch hook a rug or mat, i.e., using a hook to make a looped pile from yarn or fabric on a base fabric with designs. In this creative hobby you create a looped pile using fabric on a base fabric which has some image or design. All the above mentioned articles can be obtained by buying a latch hook kit from any of those craft shops or just scour the net for a good one. There are also many softwares for creating knit-patterns from photographs. Try out latch hook rug kit as a hobby and develop some creative minds for your kids.

Take advantage of their cartoon icon and dazzle them with the Hello Kitty collection. These collections can be easily purchased from shops or online portals. These collections have various small stitching and similar works which consume their time usefully. Check out some of the Hello Kitty stuff and perhaps you can see some great ideas from here.

Philately or the hobby of collecting various stamps can be taken as hobby as well a serious tour of history. Each country uses its unique stamps to convey its history and culture which can be educative and informative to children. Selecting a particular sovereign is essential to improve the point of focus. Stamp collecting can easily be considered one of the oldest hobbies of the world. There were many stamp collectors initially but unfortunately with the advent of the internet age stamp collecting lost a lot of patrons. However you can still buy good and old stamps to start of your collection. Stamp collecting can be a great hobby. Not only it is fun, it is also educational and children will learn a lot of things just by collecting stamps. Plus, stamps that are collected for years do have some monetary value, so it’s not a bad idea isn’t it?

Give your kids adequate knowledge about these hobbies and rouse interest in them before providing the accessories. Talk to them about these exciting hobbies and be a part of their adventure in the initial stages. They are definitely a more creative way of spending time rather than the electronic distractions.

Methods to Texture Metal Clay for Jewellery Making

One of the coolest things about using precious metal clay ( Precious Metal Clay and ACS or Art Clay Silver) is you can add texture easily to your creations. Before Precious Metal Clay came along, the sole way you could texture metal as a jewelry maker was to etch with chemicals, stamp with metal stamps, or employ a dear rolling mill.

Metal Clay is pretty very like potter’s clay, so you can produce one of a kind details, complicated patterns, and mold and texture the metal while soft. Try doing that with metal sheet!

Be sure to remember prior to starting that precious metal clay is tacky and you need to employ a release agent to anything it touches. I love to utilise an extremely thin coating of olive oil on my hands, work area, and tools. Don’t skip this! You’ll be awfully sorry and have a mess to clean up. Be sure not to use too much oil though because this will also mean an enormous mess.

Here are some simple methods to add texture to precious metal clay while damp.

There are plenty of other methods to make your own texturing gear as well . Be sure to check out my other articles for additional recommendations.

  1. Push Molds: There are some beautiful polymer clay push molds available, but as most are rigid, you’ll have issues getting your metal clay out of them. Be sure to make use of some olive oil or a product like Cool Slip to help the metal clay not stick to the mold. Permitting the precious metal clay to dehydrate and reduce in size a bit is going to help release uncooperative clay.
  2. Found Items: Found items are the ultimate in inexpensive texturing gear! Loose change, leaves, bark, driftwood, textiles, and textured wallpaper pieces can all do the job. Do not forget to use some olive oil or other release agent. Use your imagination and you will find a lot of other textured objects you can make use of.
  3. Pointy Stick-like Objects:Toothpicks can also be used to make dots, and scrape lines into the clay. If it is possible to find typewriter keys these may be employed to press letters and words into your clay. If you cannot find old typewriter keys, inexpensive metal letter stamps are available.

As you can see, precious metal clay offers almost limitless possibilities for creating textured jewellery, charms, pendants, beads, and findings and add a whole new dimension to jewelry making. What are you going to make today?

Some Hobbies for Children

Does anyone see kids playing on trees or at playgrounds like they did earlier during vacations and holidays? TV and computer games have fast replaced the earlier creative pursuits in this technology driven age. Even when we crib about this unavoidable situation of the tech age, there is hope shimmering in the form of many easy-to-catch-up hobbies which engage kids productively along with sharpening their creativity. It is unthinkable for me to see kids who are totally unsocialable when they grow up and they can only talk to each other via keyboards and screens.

Guide your children to these hobbies and activities by involving yourself also into it. So ensure you provide them with creative and attention seeking hobbies in their leisure times. There are many hobbies that children love once they are introduced to them.

Let’s take a look at 3 hobbies that can help getting your kids out of the world of television, and into the world of diverse arts and crafts.

Philately or the hobby of collecting various stamps can be taken as hobby as well a serious tour of history. Stamp collection is interesting for your kids as it helps them to know more about the world and its history through the minute pictures depicted. Choose a specific theme and country for beginners. Stamp collecting can easily be considered one of the oldest hobbies of the world. Philately, which was a hobby confined to the Western Europe royalties, is now a growing phenomenon with almost 20 million philatelists in US alone. The modern age may now be able to communicate without stamps but the collection of stamps is still finding good takers. Stamp collecting can be a great hobby.
